Who We Are
We are organizers, advocates, legal experts, and community members united by a shared vision: to end the violence that permeates New York State’s prisons and to build a system rooted in dignity, accountability, and humanity.
We are also the directly and indirectly impacted—those who have lived behind the walls, those who have loved someone who has, and those who refuse to look away. Our experiences fuel our commitment. We are committed to confronting the legacy of the Auburn system in New York's prisons, which isolates people of color far from their communities and allows for violence and dehumanization with impunity. Our mission is to end these racially disparate policies and replace them with a new foundation built on trust. We understand that real safety cannot be built through fear or force—it must be cultivated through respect, care, and a collective sense of responsibility.

We are in solidarity with the broader movement to end mass incarceration.
We stand with those who labor for justice in the shadows, whose courage holds institutions accountable, and whose vision demands a system where the light of justice reaches all. Together, we are building a future where safety is not synonymous with punishment—and where every person, regardless of their past, is treated with dignity and seen in their full humanity.
